Apps: Working with Google Slides – Sapience Cloud

Overview

Google Slides is now one of the apps you can connect to Sapience — which means you can stop opening a deck to find out what's in it. Ask an agent to summarize last quarter's board presentation, find the deck where a decision was recorded, or build a new one out of the conversation you're already having, and it works with your presentations on your behalf.

It completes the Google set: Drive for your files, Sheets for your numbers, Docs for your documents, and now Slides for your decks. Google Slides sits in the Individual list, so there is no plan to upgrade and nothing to ask an administrator for — if you can see Connected Apps, you can connect it.

Connecting it

There are three places to do this, and they all do the same thing:

Connected Apps in the sidebar — open Connected Apps and find Google Slides, which sits just below Google Docs. Click it, then press Connect.

The Google Slides page — the app's own page explains what it can do and carries the same Connect button.

Settings ▸ Integrations — open Settings, choose Integrations, and press Connect on the Google Slides row.

Connecting takes you to Google's own sign-in and permission screen. You approve the access there — Sapience never sees your Google password. Once you're done you land back in Sapience and Google Slides shows as connected.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

You press Connect, and Sapience asks Google for permission to work with your presentations on your behalf.

Google shows you its own consent screen, listing what is being asked for. You approve or decline — the decision is yours and it happens on Google's side.

Google hands back an authorisation that is stored against your Sapience account, not shared with anyone else in your organization.

From then on, when you ask an agent to do something with a presentation, it uses that authorisation to reach your Slides — and only when you've asked it to.

You can disconnect at any time from the same place you connected, and Google's own account settings will also show Sapience in your list of connected applications.

Using it in chat

Once Google Slides is connected it joins the app picker beneath the chat box. Select it and Sapience tells you what it can do and offers three starting points you can click straight away rather than typing:

What it can do

Find & read — locate a deck and pull the content off its slides.

Summarize — condense a long presentation into the story it actually tells.

Build & edit — draft a new deck, or add slides to one that already exists, from your conversation.

Now try: "Summarize the board deck and tell me which slide the revenue forecast is on." · "Take the three options we just discussed and build me a deck with one slide each."

Tip: name the presentation and the agent goes straight to it, rather than searching.

Working across several apps at once

Because Google Slides is a connected app like any other, an agent can chain it with the rest of what you've connected in a single request:

"Find the strategy deck in my Google Drive, summarize the three big bets, and build me a short Google Slides deck I can present on Monday."

"Pull the monthly figures from my sales spreadsheet and turn them into a five-slide update."

Google Slides now connects to Sapience on any plan, completing the Google family alongside Drive, Sheets and Docs. Connect it from the sidebar, the app's own page, or Settings ▸ Integrations, then ask an agent to find, summarize, build or extend a presentation in plain language — and combine it with your other connected apps in a single request.
