How To Customize Dashboard

Overview

Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you open Sapience, and it's made up of six modules— Favorites, Agent Work, Recent Meetings, Recent Projects, My Tasks, and Recent Files & Notes.

Not everyone works the same way. If you live in Projects and rarely look at Meetings, there's no reason for Meetings to sit near the top of your page. So you can now turn modules off and drag them into whatever order suits you.

Your layout is saved to your account, not to your computer. Set it up on your laptop and it's already waiting for you when you sign in from a different machine, a different browser, or after clearing your cache.

Opening the Customizer

There are two ways in — they open the same window, so use whichever is closer to hand.

From the dashboard	Scroll to the bottom and click Customize Dashboard.
From Settings	Menu at your name (bottom-left) → Settings → Advanced tab → Customize Dashboard.

Choosing What You See

Every module is listed, each with a checkbox: ticked means it appears, unticked means it's hidden.

Hidden modules stay in this list, unticked. That's deliberate: turning something off should never make it impossible to turn back on.

You can't hide everything.

Putting Them In Your Order

Each row has a six-dot handle on its left. Drag a row by that handle to move it. The list reorders as you drag, so you see the result before you let go.

Prefer not to drag? Every row also has up and down arrows on the right that move it one position at a time — handy on a trackpad, or if dragging is awkward for you.

The order in the list is the order on your dashboard, top to bottom. Click Save Layout and your dashboard rearranges immediately — no refresh needed. Cancel discards everything.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

You tick, untick, and drag. Nothing is saved yet — you're editing a working copy, which is why Cancel can throw it all away cleanly.

You click Save Layout. Sapience works out which modules are visible, and in what order.

That arrangement is saved to your user account in the cloud, alongside your other personal preferences — not to the browser you happen to be using.

Your dashboard redraws straight away.

Next time you sign in — same device or not — Sapience builds your dashboard from your saved layout.

Because step 3 writes to your account rather than your browser, your layout genuinely travels with you. Signing in on a colleague's machine shows your dashboard, not theirs.

When Sapience Adds a New Module

You might reasonably worry that a saved layout would freeze you out of anything new — it doesn't.

A brand-new module appears automatically, slotted into the position it was designed to sit in relative to the modules you've kept.

A module you deliberately hid stays hidden, no matter how many new ones arrive afterwards.

Sapience keeps those two cases apart on purpose: "I've never seen this" and "I turned this off" are different things and get different treatment.

If a Save Doesn't Go Through

If your connection drops as you click Save Layout, the window stays open with your changes still in it and tells you the save didn't work. Nothing is silently lost, and nothing is half-applied — just click again once you're back online.

Good to Know

This covers the dashboard on web and desktop. The mobile dashboard has its own layout and isn't affected by these settings yet.

The Activity Feed isn't in the list. It lives in its own column beside your modules rather than among them, so it isn't part of the ordering.

It's personal to you. Customizing your dashboard changes only your view — nobody else on your team sees any difference.

Summary

Your dashboard is now yours to arrange: untick the modules you don't use, drag the rest into the order you actually work in, and click Save Layout. Because the arrangement is stored on your account rather than in your browser, it follows you to every device you sign in from — and new modules Sapience adds later will still find their way onto your page without disturbing the choices you've made.
