Emailing Files & Reports as Attachments

Overview
Sapience agents can send you email — and now they can attach files to that email, not just write the body. So when an agent produces something you want to keep or forward — a report, a document, a generated file — it can drop it straight into your inbox as a proper attachment.
The most common way you'll see this: the Report skill automatically emails you the finished report when it's done. But any agent that can send email can attach a file you ask it to.

Automatic: the Report skill emails you the report
When you use the Report skill to produce a report, emailing it to you is the final step — you don't have to ask separately. As it finishes, the skill:
- Saves and publishes your report as a shareable web page.
- Sends you an email with a short cover note, the share link and password, and the report attached (as an
.htmlfile you can open or forward).
So you end up with both a live link to view or share the report and a saved copy in your inbox — no extra steps.
On Request: ask an agent to email you a file
Any agent that can send email can also attach a file to it. Just ask in plain language — for example:
"Email me that document.""Send this file to my inbox as an attachment."
The agent attaches the file it's holding (for instance, one it just created and saved for you) and sends it.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
When an agent emails you a file, here's what it does:
- It identifies the file you asked for — one it already has in the conversation.
- It checks your access. An agent can only attach a file you are allowed to see — it can't reach past your permissions to attach something you don't have access to.
- It reads the file and attaches it to the email, then sends it.
- If it can't attach the file for any reason, it tells you and does not send a half-finished email. You'll never get an email that was supposed to have an attachment but silently arrived without one.
Good to Know
- Access is always respected. Attachments are limited to files you can see — an agent can't use email to leak a file you don't have access to.
- You get the link and the file (for reports). The Report skill gives you both a shareable online version and an attached copy, so you can forward whichever suits.
- It's driven by conversation. There's no separate screen for this — it happens as part of running the Report skill, or when you ask an agent to email you something.
