Projects: Getting Started
Sapience Projects is a hybrid workspace where Humans and Agents work together.
Project Management Software You & Agents Will Love
Summary: Project management software is notoriously shelfware, something that companies buy and employees never use. It's because they just don't map to normal human workflows. Sapience is different. It shapes itself to your workflow with flexible and powerful views that adapt to you and an AI agent built into every project as a project manager. You can also use agents within a project to execute work on a project, truly creating a hybrid workspace where humans and agents can work together.

0:00 Welcome to another Sapience walkthrough. In this video, I’ll show you how to create a simple project. But first, let’s quickly define what a project is in Sapience. 0:11 A project isn’t just a folder—it’s a smart workspace with an AI agent built in. The moment you create a project, you get a container for everything tied to that initiative. 0:23 That includes your notes, files, team members, goals, and tasks, plus a dedicated project agent that automatically understands all of it. There are three ways to create a project in Sapience. 0:37 You can create one from the New tab, the left sidebar, the project dropdown, or the New Project card on the dashboard. 0:45 All three open the same form. In this example, we’ll use the project dropdown. You’ll see recent projects and the option to create a new project. 0:55 Click it, enter a project name, add a short description, and define your primary goal. Then click Next, review the details, and click Finish. 1:20 You’ll land inside your project. Here, you’ll see the core tabs that run your project: Overview, Goals and Tasks, Conversations, Files and Notes, Project Team, and Agent Settings. 1:36 This is where all your work lives. Now, let’s add structure. Click Goals, select Add Goal, and name your goal. 1:53 You can set the status, assign a due date, and assign the goal to the project agent or to yourself. 2:10 You can also set priority based on importance and urgency. Add a description, then create the goal. Under each goal, you can create a sub-goal. 2:31 You can also create a task. In this example, let’s add a task. The same options apply: task name, status, due date, assignee, and priority. 2:57 Then add a description. Next, go to Files and Notes to upload supporting documents. Sapience provides versioned, searchable storage for all your files. 3:11 Here, we’ll add a resource file to provide additional context for this project. In this example, I have a sample campaign calendar in Excel. 3:21 Click Upload file, or simply drag and drop the file from your device. And there you go. We also have the Project Team tab for collaboration. 3:42 This is where you can add team members and set permission levels (Quick Share). Now, in the Conversations tab, you can select New Conversation and either chat with the Project Agent or start a group chat with team members. 4:10 For now, let’s choose Chat with Project Agent. You’re now in the conversation. To start, choose the brainstorming agent under Skills → Thinking/Planning to develop guidelines or expand ideas. 4:31 In this example, we’ll use this starter prompt: “Tell me about this project.” As you can see, the agent is now gathering data and information. 4:50 Or you can ask the agent to list what files have been added to the project and pull information from those files. 5:08 You can also use the suggested areas for further exploration. When you’re ready to generate your final output, ask the agent to create it and publish. 5:20 You can publish as a web URL to create a shareable link. And there you go—this is now your final output. 5:40 For more guides, visit Sapiencehq.com. And that’s it. You now know how to create a project, navigate the core tabs, and generate a published output. 5:53 You’re ready to build in Sapience."
